Scott M. Schooley
Scott M. Schooley, serves as the President of Woodside. He has over 25 years of experience in lending transactions, loan purchases, receivership and bankruptcy proceedings, asset acquisitions and dispositions and company operations. Scott was also formerly the President of Blackstone Cable, an entity he created to purchase distressed cable television loans and cable television systems. Prior to the creation of Woodside and Blackstone Cable, he was a partner in the law firm of Bingham Dana, LLP (currently Bingham McCutchen), where he represented lenders and borrowers in a variety of financing, bankruptcy and corporate transactions.

Daphne J. Firth
Daphne Firth, Managing Partner, brings 30 years of investment underwriting experience within both the commercial lending and investment banking industries as a result of previous positions at Bank of Boston and Lehman Brothers. Her experience as the primary manager of a multitude of problem investments and structured loan transactions gives Woodside the advantage of being able to evaluate complex and somewhat difficult investment situations that other competitors may shy away from. Daphne is responsible for the approval of all investments and is active on the Board of many of Woodside’s control investments.

David B. Ray
David Ray, Partner, is responsible for distressed debt investing at Woodside. Prior to joining Woodside in 2001, David was employed by Fleet Bank and Bank of Boston for 16 years where he held various workout and risk management positions. His last position at Fleet was Senior Risk Manager in Debt and Equity Capital Markets. Prior to that, David was Executive Vice President, Senior Credit Officer and Division Executive of the Loan Review Division of Bank of Boston Connecticut. In addition to approving all new underwriting and overseeing credit quality for a $3 billion portfolio, he had primary responsibility for managing a $350 million problem commercial loan portfolio. David was also previously the head of the workout unit for Bank of Boston’s extensive European network.

Michael Shirley is a Managing Director at Woodside and primarily focuses on investments where the fund maintains a controlling interest in the portfolio company and will often take a temporary operating role to execute a turnaround or restructuring strategy. Michael previously worked at Gulf Atlantic Capital, focused on distressed financial advisement and interim CFO roles. Prior to Gulf Atlantic, Michael spent 5 years as a controller and operationally focused CFO for a middle market automotive manufacturing company, he served as a vice president for a private equity group in Atlanta (GWB (USA), Inc.), and started his career in the audit department of PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLC.

Brent Crossman is a Principal at Woodside and is tasked with underwriting and managing distressed commercial loan purchases and performing due diligence on turnaround equity investments. In the companies in which Woodside has a controlling stake, Brent provides additional analytical support to the board and senior management. Previously, Brent worked in both FleetBoston’s loan work-out group and syndication group, providing modeling, credit management and due diligence support.

Eric Luoma is a Senior Associate at Woodside and assists in all aspects of the fund’s debt and equity investments. His primary responsibilities include deal sourcing, due diligence, modeling, and monitoring existing portfolio investments. Eric previously spent 3 years at KPMG in the Transactions & Restructuring Advisory practice, performing financial due diligence on acquisition targets on behalf of financial as well as strategic buyers.
